    Couple of comments:

I remember seeing Sting in an interview commenting on how people tell him they love this song - "It's the song my wife and I played at our wedding," and all kinds of stuff.

Sting said that this is not a love song.. It's a song about distrust and surveillance.

As to the "only 3 people" comment. I saw The Who twice (both times before Keith Moon died). It was amazing how these three guys (and a vocalist) could make great sound.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Not only is it clearly about stalking, he felt compelled to later release the song “if you love somebody set them free” to counter the criticism he got for those lyrics.

Saw them in the mid 80s. Great show.

Pianists, organists, singer-songwriter types with a guitar or piano would laugh at this.

Me too. 83 on the Synchronicity tour. They were probably at their peak. Great show.

That was the one. The Fixx and Flock of Seagulls opened for them.

Some people were throwing golf balls at the stage when Flock of Seagulls played.

The Police have an all-time high music quality : band name quality ratio.

                  Education is extremely important.
