@Rainman It held things together post surgery. It doesn't really do much anymore, but they don't take it out unless it causes a problem (taking it out is a surgical procedure, albeit minor).
But yeah, it broke. That happens, and unless it starts bothering me we'll just leave it.

Got ya beat, buddy...I've got titanium plates to go along with the wires.
(This reminds me of a SNL Billy Crystal sketch).

I have two titanium plates in my jaw where the socket holes used to be.
So if you don't buy a mobile home from me, it ain't gonna hurt my feelings. -
Not just 4 years. 4 good years. I'm probably one of the few here who has met up with you both before and after. After is better.

Last summer I broke that right sternal suture at the gym (left side of picture). I felt it pop. It was weird, I knew instantly what it was.
Besides that wire I have a few staples inside, you can see them in the above picture below the wire a couple inches, but they show up much more on the left lateral image below.
I had 55 more staples on the outside closing my chest up, but they got removed after 6 weeks or so. These internal few stayed behind.
By the way my transplant was 4 years ago last Thursday.
