Good thread, TG.
I didn't know about brenda testing positive either. I think I remember Jodi saying she and her husband were getting better, but I could be wrong. I figured with Jolly posting regularly he would mention it if things didn't go well.
As for my Sarah, she's back to her old self. Doesn't seem to have any issues as a result of the virus. She has chronic asthma but she had that before. Her biggest issue when she was sick was double pneumonia. I almost lost her twice during that illness, but I thank God every second of every day that she came through it ok.

I know we have had a few people or relatives on this forum board who had COVID-19. Just wondering how the recoveries are going. Any long term problems?
@Jolly - sister in law, right?
@Larry - your wife Sarah, right?
@brenda - you and your husband, right?
@jodi - you and your husband , right?Hope you all guys are doing well now!
SIL went back to work yesterday for four hours on light duty. She had one patient that she had to go full PPE, including N95, and stay gowned for about 40 minutes.
She made the half-day, but was worn out.
Forgot if I posted it here, but she told me The Lake is admitting 25 COVID patients a day into their right COVID wards. Things bumped back up.

Hubby and I had all the symptoms, all of them, way back in February. We both said it was different than a regular flu. I've had the flu before, including the swine flu as a teen, and this was different. It produced a very bad cough and shortness of breath for me, and we both had the trots with it. I was so short of breath, a normal conversation left me winded. Stairs required stopping to rest mid-flight, and certainly between flights. I have never had that happen before. I should have been tested then, but it was still so new that there wasn't testing available.
Because of the continuing lung problems, I was finally tested two months later (for the live virus, not the antibody), and it was negative. Well, yeah, after two months it's not surprising that it came back negative.
Maybe it was a flu that had all the same symptoms as COVID, or maybe it was COVID. Either way, we are still taking all the precautions, as if we have never had it.
I still have lung problems after all this, and now use an inhaler. It's gradually getting better five months after the illness. I have never had a flu that caused problems for five months after the illness.

Book it. That's COVID.

In early March I attended a couple of concerts of the Beethoven symphonies conducted by John Elliott Gardiner. The concerts were on consecutive nights, Monday and Tuesday.
By Friday I was sick as hell - fever of 102 plus, hacking cough. I had no GI symptoms. This was just as the SARS-CoV-2 story was beginning to be a big deal, and I thought, "Could it be?"
"Nah," I figured.
I was sick for about 4 days and, unlike Brenda, I've had no sequelae that I'm aware of. It might be interesting to get the antibody test, though. I see my internist in mid-August and I plan to mention this to him.

I need to get it myself.
I had a weird illness in very early March. For several days I'd have fever, it would subside for a little, then come back. Then after that I was more or less fine, but had a non-productive cough for about a month. My boss had that same cough, and he tested positive for the antibody test.

Indeed. I'd get re-tested given that history.
Routine antibody tests are IgG/IgM. Considering the nature of our very friendly virus, the antibody test may be negative now.

I've read this in several reports, that the antibodies fade fast. Given that we were ill in February, I doubt we would get a positive antibody test either.

Agreed.
