A bit o' eggnog with spiced rum...

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

        IPA

My son gave me a glass of something called ‘Mud Slide’. It was like Bailey’s but not quite as nice and a whole shit load cheaper.

        I was only joking

@Renauda I'm having my Rusty Nail. which is a nice alchemy between a peaty Islay scotch and Drambuie.

I made braised short ribs in a red wine sauce over mashed for Christmas dinner which is a whole lot of time. Never did it before, and I have no idea how a restaurant can do a good short rib that has to cook for so long.

We had wanted to do a tenderloin roast but the grocers were sold out by the time we went Christmas dinner shopping.

I hope you and yours had a lovely Christmas.

And wonderful Christmas to you and yours as well.

Never tried a rusty nail. Might just try one at New Year’s. Have always had my poison pure as it were.

Got a lovely bottle of cognac from my daughter. It’s a Remy Martin 1738 - sits right between the VSOP and the much pricier XO.

                  Since u asked,

                  53E7BFFD-007D-4640-A567-F2BF67B656F4.jpeg

Rosé Razi’el is a blend of handpicked Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan.
The must is fermented and aged for six months in new French oak Demi-muids (600l).

This is a gastronomical rosé. The palate is round and complex, with fruity and refreshing notes. It is very well balanced and mouth filling.

With dinner which was grilled bass fillets, chard, and fresh baguette.

Sounds divine, Bach. I doubt it's available here, but I shall look.

I’ve only had a few of the Japanese Whiskeys, but I’ve liked them. The price in that doesn’t look too bad, either.

What’s the cigar? I’m due for my summer cigar…

Tonight’s quaff is macallan and a Scottish stout from loch lomand brewery.

When I’m feeling that I need to just say fuck it to all these news reports about how bad alcohol is, I find a shot of whisky and a good brewsky puts all those things to rest.

I love the Scottish theme… An Irish Pub that was nearby used to have a special called a White Collar. It was a pint of Smithwick’s and a dram of Jameson…

Sake, this one is rather nice, a Christmas present from Tokyo.

(I don't read Japanese and the only thing on the reverse label I can understand is 720ml and 40%; but found the brand online and one that looks near identical... is 750ml 16%ABV so I'm not exactly sure what I'm drinking)
