I know that was just ball-busting but Mark mentioned stationery too, so, here's all mine, from bottom up:

    IMG_3363.jpg

Maroon: Notes from non-fiction that I read.
Red: notes about technical shit like how many stops a 720nm IR filter takes you down to, processes I use in Illustrator, stuff like that.
    White: work notebook.
Blue: old writing notebook. I mentioned here awhile back that I was adapting a middle english Robin Hood ballad into modern english. Thatโ€™s it on the left, but the blue notebook was the first draft.
Purple: my current writing notebook. I designed those because why not. Silverymoon is kind of like a Hogwarts in D&D. Thought it would be fun to use notebooks that look like test booklets from the university.
Small blue: for D&D campaigns. This was given to me by my friends; we all have one. Whatโ€™s cool about the D20 attached there is that itโ€™s hollow. It has a hinge on it, and inside is a D4, D6, D10, D12 and D20.

Underneath my book is a Rhodia pad. @mark Iโ€™m a fan of these for loose notes but most of the notebooks I use (minus freebies I can get my hands on that aren't too terrible) are all Leuchtturm 1917s. Iโ€™ve never had a problem with any ink or nib combination with them and they actually do lay flat, which is handy.

    Please love yourself.

My father-in-law has a kind called Eclipse that I use a lot. It's almost all black but has a slight tinge of blue/purple to it. Kinda cool and a very well-behaved ink.

      Is it Diamine Eclipse?

It is! That's the one. My bottle looks very different but it's Diamine all right.

Awesome! I just ordered a couple of Rhodia A4 notebooks and a Clairefontaine A5 with a pretty cover for the Mrs.

Love the blue D&D notebook and especially the hollow D20!

I am still at the newbie stage but I'm writing more than ever before in my entire life! It started out writing nonsense or document what was happening with the pen, penmanship, spelling errors or writing fuck ups. ๐Ÿ˜† then it was what was happening in real time. Random thoughts, etc. Anything to keep that nib moving and the ink flowing.

I took it to work and started to document everything. Started using a second notebook yesterday but still have random shit in both of the generic Staples college-rule notebooks I have been using.

I will start to organize them by subject matter. Probably use the Staples crap for work. The more premium ones for Journaling or creative writing. I'm considering enrolling in a creative writing class.

That's awesome, Mark! They have a weird way of getting the hands moving, don't they?

What kind of creative writing do you think you might want to get into? I started weekly lessons that anyone can take at any time called "couch to Sonnet"; basically, it gets you from "what the hell's a sonnet" to writing your own in about 6 weeks. The lessons aren't hardcore, either; the writing component people can do while they drink their morning coffee. It's also free and folks who follow it can ask me anything along the way.

That might not be your thing but if I could help in any way, let me know.

          Please love yourself.

            From Elizabeth...

I do know about the piston filler! Goulet keeps selling out of them (and they're a touch more expensive than your average run-of-the-mill Sport...) so I haven't invested in it yet. Largely, it's the cost factor but I also still like the smaller converters on the Kaweco. They give me more opportunities to use different inks (which is where I have my actual problem. ๐Ÿ˜… So many inks... So few pens.)

The Kaweco I just bought is "The Little Witch" (a collaboration with a Japanese online stationary store). It's been on my radar for a while and I used my "conference bonus" to finally pull the trigger on buying it. So cute.
I found a really nice complimentary ink to go with it, but I'm waiting until Tuesday so I can buy the new "summer" Lamy Safari in the piรฑa colada color. ๐Ÿ˜

Freaking Brian Goulet of the Goulet Pen Company. He gets me every time. My wife wants a pen and she'd so dig this kind of thing. That ink is awesome, too.

I just ordered the pen. She ordered the matching ink plus the Colorverse from Goulet.

I also ordered a Sakae A5 5mm dot grid notebook.

I ordered the extra fine nib. So now I will have 3 different nibs on 3 pens. I told her I am done ordering pens. I mean 3 pens in 3 weeks. It's starting to get crazy.

Just 3 (The Monteverde and Conklin with The Little Witch Kaweco enroute)

I am actually 3D printing one as I type this.

I have a spare converter and the original medium nib from the Monteverde. I found a ready to print model for them and I'm printing it using color changing filament. It should be a cool looking pen if it works. I will post a photo when it's done printing.

Writing is getting better. Well the penmanship anyway. lol I have been using them at work for everything! I love the looks I get when I use them. Like WTF?

                                  A 3D printed fountain pen.

It does not work with my threaded converters so I had to use a stock cartridge and I don't like the ink.

I suppose changing cartridges with a full one in the pen would be rather messy but I might risk it.

I never really use mine outside of the house. I mean sometimes I do, but never with anyone close enough to see what I'm writing with.

But one thing I like to do is keep a cool kind of ink in my Liliput and keep that on me. I have a nice, rich turquoise that has a serious amount of color variation to it, even on cheap paper, and thankfully it barely feathers. So, when I'm given something to sign, I'm given a ballpoint, but I use my pen (along with a fairly wide italic nib) and people are like "WTF did you use to write that?" ๐Ÿ˜„

Maybe just get a friction fit converter? That pen looks awesome, Can it be polished so that the irregularities in the 3D printing can be smoothed out?

It's a silky finish filament and when you sand it, the silky surface gets dulled. I might try again with a .05mm layer height. I printed the first one with a .10mm layer height which is pretty much the limit of a .4mm nozzle. I will try a .05 layer height and will probably print it with a mat black filament this time. Using a .2mm nozzle is tricky and is prone to clogging but it is the proper way to get to .05mm layer height. The "hairs" inside the clip are unavoidable but I can clean them up with an exacto blade. I tried to vaporize them with a heat gun but it deformed the entire cap so that ended up in the recycle bin.

We drove to the heart of downtown Chicago this morning for our first visit to Atlas Stationers. https://www.atlasstationers.com/

So many pens! So much ink! Notebooks, accessories and very helpful and friendly staff.

Purchased my first Italian pen. A just released and not even on display yet, Visconti Comedia Purgatorio with a fine nib. It is the smoothest writing pen I own.

Found a beautiful leather pen/notebook case. Two Rhodia notebooks, A Pilot dip pen and an Atlas exclusive "ink of the week" Colorverse Wolf Point. It's a shimmering ink with tiny bits of glitter in it. Absolutely gorgeous ink.

The Mrs picked out a couple of cheap pens including a Pilot disposable fountain pen and a gel pen. She also found a small sketch pad.

D1 picked out 3 inks, notepads and a pack of Leaf color swatch papers.

We had a great time despite the overpriced parking. $59 for 90 minutes of parking! ๐Ÿ™„

I foresee more trips like this in the future.

We will be scoping out more affordable parking for our future visits though.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
