A "succession of cover-ups" meant nobody was brought to justice for the deaths of hundreds of people in Nazi camps on the British island of Alderney, a panel of experts has found.
The inquiry ordered by Lord Pickles found it likely 641-1,027 people died under the "brutality, sadism and murder" of Nazi rule on the northernmost of the inhabited Channel Islands.
It found the Holocaust was "part of Alderney's history", while Lord Pickles said the subsequent lack of war trials was a "stain on the reputations of successive British governments".

    I was only joking

Interesting story. I have never hear of that before. So, the Nazi did occupy part of the UK.

The invaded the Channel Islands in 1940 and were there until 1945 - Jersey and Guernsey were both occupied. If you look at the map the first question that jumps to mind is why they're part of the UK and not France, but don't ask that question of the locals 😆 .

First I have heard of this camp as well.

Not surprised the Soviets dropped the file. The Soviet attitude toward their own prisoners of war was reprehensible. After the war many were repatriated back to the USSR only to face NKVD interrogation, imprisonment in the GULAG or a bullet to the base of their skull.

I am sure the Soviets could care less about the fate of the those Soviet citizens in the Alderney camp. In Stalin’s eyes they were probably cowards and collaborators anyway.

          Elbows up!

(Not directly related, but I thought this line from the article was somewhat funny
