    This article strikes me as odd. My understanding is the current situation was caused by an overheated housing market. Not sure how building and selling yet more excess housing stock is going to do anything but kick the can down the road.

      It seems like they are just trying to sell excess houses. But, if the article is correct and there is house supply for 3 BILLION people, then it won't do much. People are not going to buy second and third houses.
