Thought the JFK story was interesting.
I didn't realize how old she was when she played Jeannie. She was born in 1931 and the show ran until 1970...so she was almost 40 when it wrapped. I also thought it was interesting how the show hid her baby bump while she was pregnant.

I guess Kennedy was the last of the rock star pick-them-from-the-crowd-and-fuck-them presidents. I don’t really believe women have a huge problem with that leader phenotype. But when we see Clinton and his face plant as he attempted to be that guy with an unattractive Lewinsky, we can get the impression that it’s a dead thing.

Well money is just fungible power. If you want someone to do something for you, you can either ingratiate yourself to them, or give them money. Ingratiating yourself to a random person you want something from, generally involves so much weaseling and lying, it’s really the suboptimal choice. Just give them money and keep a clean conscience.

How timely! Last night I was trying to express to Lucas the ridiculousness of mainstream culture in the 60s. I pulled up an episode of I Dream of Jeannie on YouTube as a show that epitomized the era.
