    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/ukrainian-refugees-us-uniting-for-ukraine-russia-invasion/

In April 2022, the Biden administration created an unprecedented program known as "Uniting for Ukraine," allowing an unlimited number of Ukrainians sponsored by Americans to come to the U.S. and work here legally without having to go through the lengthy visa process.
    .
... As of the end of March, more than 187,000 Ukrainians had arrived in the U.S. under the policy.
    .
Another 350,000 Ukrainians have arrived in the U.S. outside of the sponsorship process since the start of the Russian invasion, mainly through temporary visas, according to DHS.

As long as it was done legally, who's complaining?

@Jolly said in Ukrainian immigration into the USA > half million:

As long as it was done legally, who's complaining?

        Well, yeah. Legally and openly.

It's not like they put them on airplanes and flew them into the country or anything.

In the middle of the night.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Compare to the intake of our Afghan allies:

          https://reliefweb.int/report/united-states-america/afghan-immigrants-united-states

The U.S. withdrawal marked a turning point for Afghan migrants globally, and particularly in the United States. The Biden administration launched Operation Allies Welcome (OAW) in 2021, which gave 76,000 evacuated Afghans humanitarian parole to enter the United States.

Much smaller number given parole, likely even smaller number of those who have actually made it here. Maybe the Biden administration has learnt to do things better, maybe it’s because the Ukrainian government is more cooperative while the Afghan government was more antagonistic, maybe all of the above. Certainly more controversial for the Afghans than the Ukrainians to immigrate here. Maybe some day we will see the stats for Gazans and the West Bankers.

No, I'd say the Biden Administration fucked up in Afghanistan.

            By the numbers.

Now, having said that...Who brings more value to American society, Afghans, Ukrainians, South Africans or Palestinians?
