    This is bad and headed for the courts if it goes anywhere. The electoral college was and is a stroke of genius.

      It's an interesting legal question. IF the states (and that's a big if) can select how to apportion the electors, then there might be a basis for this movement.

      I'm not saying I agree, by any means. Just that it's an interesting legal argument.

      Because "democracy," you know.

        As someone (maybe @Doctor-Phibes ) said in another discussion on the electoral system. If it benefits (generic) your guy, it is a good thing. If it doesnt, it should be removed.

        Over the last 20+ years, it seems to "favor" the Republican candidate. 50 years ahead, it may be just the opposite.

          Pure democracy is nothing but mob rule. The electoral college makes sure all parties are represented. It is a good idea no matter what side you are on. If the Dems keep abandoning the cities they will come to love it.
