Self Defense?

Seems like self defense.
Since this kid was under 18 and illegally had a firearm, where do they go from here?
If it were me, he could be charged with some sort of gun crime (possession of a gun when not allowed or something like that), but certainly not murder

Had I been the driver I’d have gunned it (no pun intended) and crushed the perp between the cars. All while ducking down in the seat.
Or so I imagine here on my sofa with my wine glass and iPhone.

My thought as well.
What's not told in the story is that the driver was working for a company that moves cash around. He had $100K cash in the car, and somehow (!) the shooter knew that.
It took 6 seconds for the guy to respond to the shooting (you can see timestamps and a reflection of his hand in the windshield).
My opinion? Not a justified shooting. The robber ran as soon as he saw the driver's gun.
