It’s not just any franchiser, it is one which regularly highlights its Christian values.

No doubt even Hooters has a zero tolerance policy of pedophiles as franchisees.

Does Chick-Fil-A ask the religion of its employees, franchise owners?

If it were a Wendy's franchisee, he wouldn't have made anything more than the local news.

Christianity may have teachings against sex outside of marriage, but has historically set the age of consent and minimum age of marriage as low as 12 (for female) or based on biological development like "puberty" or the first menstruation -- so there is a chance that, with the child victim being 15, Christianity would not consider this a case of pedophilia but merely one of extramarital sex.

Age of consent would vary with the society. There's a lot of difference between a 19th century girl raised on a farm in a rural area and a girl raised in a modern Western society. Same is true for a boy.

In my dad's day, high school was only three years and a young person was considered full grown and independent at 17. Not uncommon to see a girl get "in the family way" and marry at 16. Not uncommon to see a girl marry right after high school, regardless of situation.

Today? I don't think most kids have walking around sense at 18...

They’ll end up, after a lot of drama, with the same formula they use every time they have a trifecta: take away health care and food assistance from low income families and use the money to fund tax cuts for their donors.

                1. Glad they got the bastard.
                2. So if this is a huge story, then what’s been happening everyday in public schools should be our national nightmare, right? I mean the sexual assault rate and coverups in our schools is hundreds of times worse than even the dreaded Catholic Church. So why don’t I see hundreds of threads on here about that?

There are a lot of threads about the Catholic Church because Ax and others enjoy dunking on the Church and Catholics. He and others don't enjoy dunking on schools, so fewer threads.

I enjoy dunking on organized religion in general. Particularly those Christian ecclesial communities out there that encourage their members to proselytise.

We’ve actually had a bunch. Usually it’s when a cute 28 year old female teacher fucks some high school kid.

I assume they do this to protect the child victim, to keep the child victim as anonymous as possible. Unless exposing the gender of the child victim serves some greater public interest, it's good that they keep it hidden from public view.
