Riffing off of George's Unforgiven comments, some westerns I think everybody should see...

    1. Tombstone. THE most quotable western. Val Kilmer should have won an Oscar for playing Doc.
    2. Silverado. The movie that brought back the western. Watch for a young Kevin Costner stealing the limelight.
    3. Unforgiven. One of the best.
    4. The Searchers. One of several iconic John Wayne westerns.
    5. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance One of the few times Wayne worked with Jimmy Stewart. How one event changes two men's lives.
    6. Red River. Another John Wayne. Some of his best acting.
    7. The Outlaw Josey Wales. Eastwood's second best western.
    8. High Noon. Grace Kelly, Gary Cooper and the Clock of Doom.
    9. Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. The best western of the late 1960's and into the next decade.
    10. The Magnificent 7 (1960). Yul Bryner and Steve McQueen in a Seven Samari western

Honorable mentions: Stagecoach (1939), True Grit (1969), Open Range, Django Unchained, Rio Bravo, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, Shane, Winchester '73, The Wild Bunch.

I saw that list a few days ago.

      I always loved Liberty Valence.

Silverado had the most "Western" music.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

          No, I haven't.

          Plot? Who's in it?

Mads Mikkelsen and a bunch of randos, it's freaking Danish. 😄 It's a Danish movie about the American West.

Two Danish war vets settle in the West. The one guy has a family, but the brothers don't have enough money to get them to America. After 7 years, they're able to bring them over. On the freaking coachride from town to their farm, the family's coach is boarded by crims. Son killed, wife raped and killed.

So for those guys, it's basically some hardcore Rambo shit, but the whole place is against them, so it doesn't go well. But the Big Bad Guy's got this widowed sister-in-law. She's mute and is basically his property. She changes the whole direction by the end of it.

            Please love yourself.
