“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

My cousin runs an architect's office over there. He says the building industry is devastating the country. The only thing that matters is big money.

What does he mean? Are the Vietnamese over-building in Vietnam, leaving many construction projects unfinished or unoccupied like China?

I don't know about overbuilding. My cousin referred to the fact that lots of buildings, offices, condo's etc are being built on scenic places, ruining the landscape
Planology is definitely not what those corporations have in mind ☹️

The article makes no surprises to me.

I though this quote was somewhat "funny"

"The official lists of party and state functionaries' salaries are published in the newspapers, and many only get $500 or $1,000 a month. Nevertheless, they often drive expensive Mercedes and lead lavish lifestyles. Of course, one wonders: Where does the money come from?"

Seems like that is the way in every country to some extent.

I suspect with the impetus to move business out of China, Vietnam may get a lot more business...
