      Wow - I can't believe they're actually getting money for this.

      It's actually a positive thing for Apple to do. Well, I think it is - it's not black and white.

      But essentially - as your battery ages, its capacity decreases. So they tamp down some of the clock speed in the CPU to make the battery last longer.

      An analogy would be the capacity of your car's fuel tank decreases as you use it (imagine some sort of gunk builds up). If the car maker was able to decrease horsepower a bit to keep your mileage the same - that's not necessarily a bad thing to do.

      They shoulda been up front about it - because it sounds like planned obsolescence. But it's not nefarious.

        I got a credit for .01 cents last month for something with some stock.

        I also remember a shitload of people filing for 100 something for experian and got nothing.

        Good luck getting through the form and reading mindless crap. If you get your $25 you can crow right here.

        I run a 6 and my only interest is reading this thread updated.
