I tend to believe Shohei, he’s making way too much in salary and endorsements to risk on gambling, plus gambling is very much a nope in Japanese culture (except for pachinko). But, since legalizing sports gambling and every league embracing the money it provides, it is going to become increasingly difficult to trust anyone. We’ve already seen several suspensions and mini scandals, it’s going to get worse.

Not a fan of how culturally acceptable gambling is becoming. I'm usually all for personal responsibility, but I'm starting to see severe impacts on young men I know.

This has evolved way too fast - there a few cultural guardrails in place.

Many old cultures have gambling taboos - and for good reason.

It's nothing new, just a slightly different repeat of stuff that has happened before.

I wonder what type of scandal will have to happen, before we start to curb the betting industry?
