Shows how much hospitalists check charts.
Last time I looked - and this was about 5 years ago - results of hospitalist care were better than your own personal doc. Readmission rate was one of the parameters.
But, I agree, I don't like the system.
I've bitched about the non-personal nature of much of today's medicine, especially big-city medicine, in the past.
"We're going to refer you to nephrology."
"OK, who?"
"I dunno, a kidney doctor."
"Is he any good?"
"I'm sure s/he is."
Sigh.
