It took her four years. It took Pete three.
Maravich averaged over 14 more points per game played.
-
Ran across an interesting stat...They went back and looked at the shot maps and video of Pete's old games.
The Pistol averaged 13 shots per college game that were behind today's three point line...He averaged 44 points/game at LSU...With 3-pointers counted as in today's play, Pete would have averaged 57 ppg. Those numbers would make him averaging 27 points per game more than Clark, or almost twice her points per game.
Most college basketball players, male or female, would love to average 27 points per game.
-
Here's the point...Four years vs. three.
Clark has 3735 points in 132 games. Pete had 3667 in 83 games. With three pointers counted, he would have had 4746...in 83 games. In 132 games, counting three point shots, the Pistol would have scored 7524 points.
Or double what Clark has scored. Sorry, her record deserves an asterisk.

Jim Brown is the all time rushing yards per game leader in the NFL. Emmitt Smith is the all time rushing leader. Michael Vick holds the yards per carry record. Three different records.
That being said, comparing NCAA Women’s Basketball vs NCAA Men’s Basketball is ridiculous. 2 different sports.

This. The different size ball makes it a different game.

That, and NCAA Women’s Basketball has something called defense.
