Which Center do you think Pittsburgh should get?

Jackson Powers-Johnson -Oregon Probably the best Center in the draft. High floor and high ceiling. Safe #1, will be one of the top 6-7 centers in the league. His physicals are incredible, but it’s El rare to put a first round pick on a center -

Graham Barton - Duke Has the body type, athleticism, and intelligence for center, but only played the position as a Freshman. He was the top lineman on the team so hot moved to LT. His size doesn’t translate to Tackle at the NFL Level. His ceiling at center? All-Pro. He’s got the skills. The floor is really low, though. It’s a different game to snap the ball and still get your block in place. While he was good as a Freshman, there may be s development issue. If it doesn’t work, he’s still a pro bowl quality guard in the NFL.

Zach Frazier - WVU. This is the 3rd center getting first round grades, but 3 centers going in round 1 just doesn’t happen. The guy is a championship wrestler, but only did wrestling to help with football, the kid is a Steeler through and through. His last game WVU was trailing Baylor 31-27 with a minute left and no timeouts. On the first play of the drive, he literally shoved the wide receiver past the first down marker, gets rolled up on and severely injured his leg, crawled and hopped his way off the field to avoid a 10 second injury runoff.

Here are his other highlights -

Finally, Sedrick Van Pran-Granger - Georgia. Center. That’s all you need to say. Day 2 pick, but day 1 starter. Will probably be a top 20 center.

Personally? I’m rooting for JPJ. Watched him at the Senior Bowl and he is a beast. If he goes before our pick, I want us to take the best CB available, and take Frazier or Van Pran in the 2nd. Barton’s intriguing but if he fails, we already have high quality guards. A day one Center is what we need. I wouldn’t mind trading up in the 2nd to secure Frazier, but will also be happy with Van Pran.

The kid from Georgia. He can play.

The only caveat is what the Steelers expect the center to do. On some teams, the QB will call all the protections. On other teams, the center will. If the center is calling protections, he has to be the smartest OL in the locker room.

        Jackson. Too many unknowns otherwise.

I agree if he’s available. I’m worried Miami snaps him up, and I’m not sure it’s worth trading up for a center.

I don't think it is. That's why I'm leaning towards a Day 2 guy that can play.
