A black wine festival? Really?

Second year here in town apparently.
Can't the wines speak for themselves? Are we obligated to buy it because the winemaker is black? Ridiculous.

What, do you think, is the point?

For me, the point is the wine does not have a race. If you like it, you buy it. If you dont like it, you dont buy it. It should not matter who the wine maker is or what race they are.
(Of course, there would be exceptions. If someone for example was a mass murderer rapist Nazi person, I would probably not buy even if I liked it)

You raise an interesting point.
If someone were, by all accounts, a horrible, horrible person - an arrogant, abusive alcoholic. One who sued to gain custody of his nephew by (falsely) accusing his sister-in-law of being a whore, and still made wonderful wine.
Would you buy it?
If he made wonderful music, would you listen?
Just wondering where the line is.
