Italian Beef Sammich

Mrs. George is not the biggest fan of Portillo's.
Chicago people will understand this. Well, if not "understand," at least know what Portillo's is.
So, Doordash delivered from a competing and smaller place today. We ordered Italian beef sammiches.
On placing the order, I had to check how I wanted the sandwich prepared wrt "gravy sauce." My choices were
- Red Sauce
- Dry
- Buona
- Baptized
We both chose "baptized."
Sloppy, wet, juicy and wonderfully flavorful Italian beef sandwiches. This pic looks "dry" to me.

I had to look up giardiniera. It looks like the perfect accompaniment to that hoagie.
Dat's not a hoagie.
Dat's an italian beef.
In Chicago a "hoagie" is called a "submarine sandwich," or a "sub."
"A submarine sandwich, also known as a sub, hoagie, hero, or grinder, is a type of sandwich consisting of a length of bread or roll split lengthwise and filled with a variety of meats, cheeses, vegetables, and condiments.[2][3] The sandwich has no standardized name,[2] with over a dozen variations used around the world.[1]"

Nothing like fresh picked porn.
Portillo's is my favorite too, but Mrs. George wanted Buona. It comes close, albeit it bit spicier.
