According to WaPo, more children ride to school this year in private cars than on the school bus.

    That's interesting...

We started that when daughter was in 7th grade and the only other kid at the dark bus stop was a very troubled 18 year old. We started a carpool and it was time extremely well spent. Hauling three or four girls around before and after school we knew so much more about what they were experiencing without even asking. It was great.

          Same. No buses.

Here there’s only a bus for elementary school. Middle and high school walk.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

For Luke, the ES and MS were close enough that there wasn’t bud service, though the MS was borderline. He used to ride his bike or skateboard and we dropped him off a bit since the time and direction matched well.

HS was far enough off that they had a bus option but it was walkable. He made a couple of friends that would ride the bus to school together, but walk home.

We pulled ours off the buses after a couple of years and drove them in, or they walked/cycled to middle school which was right around the corner. The bussing experience was like a daily visit to the lord of the flies, which was rather at odds with the school experience.

                I was only joking
