Museums are places that take you back to a whole different world, to a story that many people only read in textbooks, but not actually feel. Museums are places having objects that sing ballads of the past and take you back to a long, long ago period.

Been to the WWII museum twice. The first time, I spent the 30 (?) minutes to watch the movie that serves as an introduction to WWII, with an American slant, of course. For me, it was useless and a waste of time. For someone who knows nothing of WWII, it might have been worthwhile. That time, I was kind of time-limited, so that 30 minutes ate into my enjoyment of the rest of the museum.

Second time I went, I spent an hour and a half. Having done it once already, I could skip the parts that were already seen and concentrate on others.

It was a lot more impressive.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Really wish they would move the USS Kidd down from Baton Rouge to New Orleans. The Kidd is the most authentic Fletcher class left.
