One man, one vote.

Socrates was right to be worried.

I also think Franklin was right when he talked about the people voting themselves money.
Today, America has some democracy problems...
- We have ignorant, incompetent, and in some cases, human vegetables voting in our elections. The purpose of public education is to create a better and more productive citizen, and a more informed voter. Better informed voters make wiser choices. If you can't pass a driver's test, you don't get a license. If you can't pass the U.S. Citizenship test, you don't get to vote.
- Politics in this country was never meant to be a permanent job and nobody should be getting rich from their position. Term limits, please.
- Election integrity. 'nuff said.
- Lastly the people should not be able to vote themselves benefits, if the government has to borrow money to pay the benefits.

I grew with a Republican party that said character matters... until it didn't.
It held up pretty well during most of my lifetime: Reagan, Bushes, Dole, McCain, Romney, Trump. One of these is not like the others.
Joking aside - they were the adults in the room until recently. Now there are none.

Also I’m not so naive to think politicians have a ton of integrity. But I think it’s important to set high standards and at least outwardly be constrained by them.
Given the chance men would have sex with most women. Doesn’t do society good for them just to go around acting like dogs and say “you know it’s what I was thinking anyways.”
