The bear down the road

Black bear do not hibernate in Louisiana. Oh, they'll get a mite sluggish in real cold weather, but it's 69 degrees here today.

My neighbor down the road, has had a bear trip his deer camera a couple of times this week. That's about 600 yards from my house, as the crow flies.

LDW&F won't let you shoot them (although I hear we'll have a few tags issued this year), but they ain't gonna come round here and mess with my dogs.

Wonder if they've chipped any of them?

Could make it hard to get rid of a dead one. You could put it on a flatbed and dump it somewhere but you could only go a mile or two an hour.

I could skin him out I guess and look for a subdermal chip. If he doesn't have one, just look for a friendly freezer.

I used to custom load his bear rounds. So, yeah.

OTOH, I can skin one out. They actually look a little like a human once you get the hide off and cut off the head.
