In 1978, we had a pair of cats. Mrs. George developed a severe allergy to cats. When she saw the doc, she was told, you can have pets, as long as they don't have fur or feathers.
So, we got Jack, the green iguana. We got him as a baby, about 11 inches long, and he grew to become quite the lizard.
He enjoyed our company, had the run of the house, and was remarkably clean.
He liked to sit on top of the shower curtain rod. Let me tell you, there's nothing like getting out of bed at 5:30 AM for work, getting in the shower and seeing a 3 foot iguana looking at you.
