A recent study that claims Rio benefited handsomely. Would have been nice to have that point included in a balanced article.

It seems like every piece of news these days only presents one side of an issue. It gets tiresome to have to follow up all the time.

Story on what happened to a community after they were displaced by the city of Rio to make way for the 2016 Olympics Games.

Glad Chicagoans dodged that 2016 bullet.

From what I've read, they are not usually so good at dodging bullets.

      Education is extremely important.

Good article, but I think for the most part, most cities do not want the Olympics. There is a serious problem in getting cities to bid for it, because most/all feel that overall, it is a losing competition for them if they win.

Well maybe the cities produced a bidding bubble and it will straighten itself out. The price is the price it sells for.

Build permanent facilities in Greece for the summer games and call it a day...

Yes. Actually, anywhere would be fine.

I agree. I permanent location would seem to be best. I like @Jolly idea about having it in Greece.

No. I think it should be in New Orleans, near where Jolly lives. Nice and hot and humid. Separate the wheat from the chaff, and all that.
