    Why not?

@LuFins-Dad said in Bring back the double feature:

Why? If you can’t close the sale in the first hour and a half, you’re probably not going to.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Actually, at the drive-in we go to occasionally, they have a double, then play the first movie again. Since it’s a double screen, there’s another set of movies playing behind you. It’s common to watch two movies, then move to the other side and watch a third…

When Lucas was real little, we lived in Atlanta for a year. They had a huge drive-in with 6 screens, each showing a double feature TWICE. We could actually watch 4 movies. We had a really nice inflatable mattress, outdoor radios, blankets… It was a lovely time.

You think present day movie goers have the attention span for a double feature? Maybe a couple of Three Stooges shorts but not much beyond that..

@Renauda I don’t know, binge watching is a real thing. Of course, normally it’s the same series, just one episode after another…

I suppose, but usually I fall asleep during the second hour/show.

The game these days is on-demand streaming, and it already supports “x feature” where x can be any real number. “Double feature” is just a special case with x=2.

Drive-ins and movie theaters are an experience. Streaming at home is not.
