Suction has, at least, some practical uses.
      Poetry has none.

In the realm of words, where verses entwine,
A tale unfolds, a curious design.
Yet here I stand, a paradox to weave,
A poem born of disdain, one might believe.

Oh, poetry, a dance of syllabic grace,
Yet some declare it a tiresome embrace.
Lines that wander, lost in metaphor's maze,
A futile pursuit, they claim, in myriad ways.

        In rhythmic cadence, emotions unfold,
Yet skeptics argue, "Is this story told?"
A canvas of language, painted in rhyme,
An art form condemned in this cynical time.

Critics dismiss, scoff at the poet's quest,
"Useless," they cry, "a pointless jest!"
To find meaning in verses, a futile plea,
In the tapestry of words, they fail to see.

But amidst the dissent, poetry prevails,
An ancient craft, as tales of old trails.
For in each stanza, a heartbeat found,
In the symphony of words, echoes resound.

So let the skeptics scorn, the cynics deride,
For in poetic whispers, truths often hide.
In the dance of language, a subtle sway,
Perhaps, just perhaps, poetry finds its way.

I’ve always thought the place a den of iniquity, now I know why.

Well, they teach poetry in school.

They don't teach students to become as personable as Stephen Hawking's talkbox, yet some folks still manage to pick it up.

                Please love yourself.

Posted elsewhere about it, but basically, wife changed jobs, wife's back in school, I changed jobs (although I'm keeping 1 out of the 2), and D&D kicked back up. Been a bit nuts. I should be back on something like more regular terms (sorry, everybody) here in a bit.

                      Please love yourself.
