Alternatively, always keep a valvestem tool in the vehicle. Remove two valvestem cores before leaving. Jackass will return to two flats (nobody carries two spares) that cannot be aired up until the valvestem cores are replaced. You can buy those at a parts place for a couple of bucks, each.
So, not much money, no permanent damage and a good bit of the day gone before the vehicle can move.
