Eventually they'll own all the big US companies worth owning.

    So, GM is safe, right?

And of course the politicians led by the Big Guy crime family.

The 1980s called, they want their worries about Japanese ascendency back.

      You were warned.

I was just thinking about that. We sold them so much commercial real estate at the high point and bought them back for pennies on the dollar.

They don't need GM if they own Elon.

          I was only joking

Stop and think about what he just stated. “As a Harvard Alum”…

The whole hoodie wearing, Mon Valley Blue Collar image is an act. It’s a fake. Western Pennsylvania has been a little bit of a problem area for Dems. Pittsburgh was a reliable city for them through all the Union activity. They have lost that area. They are crafting Fetterman to try and win back some of the blue collar common sense guys they have lost there.

Meh… I’m cynical. I think the Powers That Be in the Democrat Party realize they have overextended themselves and are preparing for a shift to the center. Having Fetterman take the lead also helps them try to resecure the rust belt cities…

Possibly. But I have a sneaking suspicion that the [prevailing belief in Washington is that we will need these people to keep the economy growing and our social programs in place. That would explain why we've done essentially nothing about it for decades.

And they are right, to a degree as well. We still need to maintain large scale immigration. The numbers need to be brought down a good bit, and we need to have better security and paths to citizenship while respecting the security of our borders.

We could start by offering immediate citizenship to the staff and families of Taiwan-based TSMC - heck, pay relocation expenses.

It would be smarter and cheaper to just move the population and its key resources here than to go to war over it.
