Went to an old haunt the other night for supper. The restaurant had posted very small signs on the door, informing customers that if they paid cash, they would receive a meal discount.
Is this becoming more common?
I'm seeing it more too. Credit cards are getting to be a bigger bite out of their profits.
What percentage discount? Used to be that gas stations advertised their "cash price", but the credit price was higher - by about 5¢ a gallon more.
Don't credit card companies charge about 3%?
Cash discount is so common in Chinese restaurants that you can call it a tradition.
