Daughter taught in inner city schools for 14 years. Student success usually hinged on two factors:
1. If a parent showed up for parent teacher conference.
2. If both parents showed up, the kid was golden, as long as his intelligence level was better than a rock.

My father was a high school headmaster in Boston during bussing.

Success hinged on moving out of the city.
