Many stores now require exact change and some will not accept $100 bills on any purchase less than $70-$80.
Rumor is that $1 and $5 bills will soon be in very short circulation.

Quite a few. Especially those who don't want every purchase in a database...

I have operated cashless for so long I can’t remember the last time I bought something with cash...except to feed parking meters. Maybe a decade now?
I have 40 in bills to my name. Can’t remember where it came from.
May a couple of bucks in my iPhone case and another few parked in my work bag.

You can't find anyone to work at the cash register who knows how to make change.

There’s been a national coin shortage, especially quarters.

I usually pay cash for stuff. I have cards, but I don't like feeling like I've paid for something twice - once when I buy it, and again when the card bill comes in. I've not noticed any shortages of any bills or coins, but I'm getting a lot of brand new 20s the last month or so. They're so new they stick together and in you're not careful you'll hand 60 bucks to someone thinking it's 20.
Come to think of it, I did notice that a couple of convenience store have had hand written signs up saying they needed coins.

You better have some cash at home. For us, it's hurricane season...ATMs don't work, most stores cannot accept cards, most will not accept checks, and cash is king.
Don't have anything bigger than a twenty and make sure you have tens, fives, ones and a roll of quarters, a roll of dimes, one of nickels and one of pennies.

I had a couple of guys come by today to haul some junk from the side of the house.
Even that transaction was cashless.
Only place I use cash is going out at bars. But with the two kiddies (and ‘rona) that doesn’t happen very often anymore.

Ever since the blackout of 2003 I’ve kept a stash of 20s around.

Hey man, you know your wife hates it when you call her a regulatory agency.
