More lights in your neighborhood? Less? About the same?

How about as you drive around?

In our immediate neighborhood? Generally more. Around the area? A fair amount less..

          More

The local landscaping companies have all gotten into the Frame Your Whole Hose With Lights business for Christmas. This business has been growing for a few years now and the growth is steady.

They will put up and take down your lights, then store them for the summer and come back and put them up again next year.

Long time residents hate the new section in the neighborhood, it features Ryan homes. The older sections feature mostly custom, mostly brick homes. And sure enough the 25 feet high blow-up spinning, flashing Walmart lights are showing up in the new section. I'm pretty sure there is some pearl-clutching happening among the old-timers.

I admit, I had to look up what a Ryan home was.

@Jolly said in Christmas Lights Economics:

              Ryan home

Just a relatively middle-of-the-road cost builder, not junk but not fancy. They build neighborhoods east of the Mississippi.

Edward Ryan was one of my first customers in this business. That commission is probably why I am still in this business.

                  Probably about the same.
Can’t say I pay much attention to it. :man-shrugging:
