    Had a nice supper of onions, smoked sausage, potatoes and sauerkraut (wife's uncle made the sausage, wife made the sauerkraut). Filling stuff. Also, a one skillet meal, because the wife is in high gear in the kitchen .

    Since yesterday, it's been a steady stream of food designed to kill those of us who might have metabolic problems.

    Orange slice cake, made with candy orange slices and orange liquor. Cranberry banana nut bread. Pecan tassies. Chocolate fudge with walnuts. Almond-cashew bark. Fruit cake cookies. Kahlua rum cake. Key lime pie. Caramel cake (think pound cake in layers with caramel icing.)

    And she's just getting started ...

      Apple didn't fall far from the tree. We had Christmas with part of the family at Thanksgiving. Her 84 year-old mother came in with nine, count 'em, nine deserts.
