I wonder if there’s a millisecond of conscious awareness that one stepped on a mine? I assume that there would be unless it literally blows apart the skull instantly.

I would imagine there would be a momentary incredible lightness of being before eternity.
Depends on the type of mine though. Some would just eviscerate a person first.
