    Went to a reggae concert last night, and an opera broke out.

    Reminded me of the great movie Step Brothers. I like to imagine the band took inspiration from the movie, but more likely it's the most famous opera song and so it appears everywhere.

    I was trying to describe what reggae music was to my mom, and came up with "black people hippy music". I was proud of that one.

    Education is extremely important.

          Got this going in the car - one of my go-to jazz albums.

          Worth a listen @mark if you haven't heard it, and anybody else here who has any taste.

          I was only joking

              There are two types of Halloween enthusiast. "Monster Mash" or "Misfits."

              I'm not into the Monster Mash.

                It followed me home from the record store today. Dead silent, dark background. Awesome mix, and mastering. Definitely the best version of Kind of Blue I have ever heard.

                        That was neat. I guess it's lost to history who invented that configuration of notes on a keyboard, but it sure has stood the test of time. Pretty brilliant actually.

                            New Steven Wilson remix of this classic progressive rock album.

                            Yes, I know the the story behind it and I also know all of the lyrics from memory. I used to play along with it on the drums in my youth.

                                  @kluurs I assume a HIP performance?

                                  How does it compare to Gardiner's recordings? Are they as "brisk?"

                                    I haven’t made it through the whole cycle, and it’s been a while since I have visited Gardiner but my sense is that Bruggen brings more refinement, Gardiner more passion.

                                      Well - have done a few comparisons. Gardiner wins on the 9th - but early symphonies and 6th - I might take the Bruggen - better sound. We can compare next visit.

                                        OK, but in terms of performance?
