Speaking of LaTech...

Highest college graduation rate of all public universities in the state.

It's got a few things going for it:

1. It and LSU are the engineering schools.
2. Tech is in the small town of Ruston. Away from much else. If you are a party animal, you're going to be disappointed.
3. Quarter System. The kids that go there, seem to really like that system. You immerse in a class and you're taking your finals in less than 90 days. Then, you move on. Not for slow starters. And very easy to finish most degrees in four years (or less)

Northwestern does quarters.

I liked it.

Start in early September. Finals before Christmas. Winter quarter was done by early April, then Spring which ended in June. There was also a summer quarter - which I did a couple of times - let me graduate 6 months early.

Interesting.

Besides Northwestern, Cal Tech, Dartmouth, University of Chicago, Stanford, DePaul, Drexel, and it looks like the entire University of California system.

And, a bunch of others.

Around here it's mostly changed to semesters. I preferred quarters.
