I don't follow football, but even I can see this was a bogus call

@George-K said in I don't follow football, but even I can see this was a bogus call:
If you watched the whole game, you would have seen that was a makeup call. They called one on Pittsburgh that was even more egregious, and they didn’t call one on Tennessee a few plays earlier that clearly was roughing the passer.

IOW: "We screwed you earlier, so to make up for it we're going to screw the other guys later."
Is that what you mean?

NFL. Defensive lineman can no longer throw all his weight on top of QB.
Granted, I believe Jack Hamm had it right... Play football or put a skirt on them.
But, QBs get paid the big bucks and they're the players that put butts in the seats and eyeballs on the screen.

Jack Hamm (#59) had it right... Play football or put a skirt on them.
That is a Jack Lambert (#58) quote, same team, same Super Bowls
Lambert, Hamm and anyone would still be the best linebacking corps in the business.

Unfortunately, yes. The last 3 weeks the refs have had an extremely heavy impact on games with non calls and wrong calls. This wasn’t even the most egregious. Sunday with the Jaguars was worse.

It’s even worse when dealing with a running QB like Lamar Jackson. The guy is more a running back than a QB and you have to treat him like it. But then they dump the ball off just as they are about to get smeared and it’s a penalty.
Most of this is Tom Brady’s fault.
