Everybody, and I mean everybody, has a scooter in Taiwan, but I have not seen many of that type.

They are more the traditional scooter.

(scooters are getting a little bit less as Taiwan has gotten richer and more people have gotten cars, but they are still a most common source of tranportation).

Didn't think this deserve a new thread, so "stuck" it here.

During my walk, saw this on the side of the road. Battery swap vending machine for electric scooters. I had see them before in Taiwan, but the first time I have seen them here. Appears that it uses an app to unlock the vending machine and switch out your old battery for a new one.

The batteries are not for the stand up scooters popular in US cities, but like the one like below that can ridden on roads. I have always thought that this battery swap philosophy should be developed for cars, but a lot of disadvantages that will make it never happen.

So, TG, could you get two batteries from the revamped coke machine, hook them up together on the scooter, and see if you get a hot-rod rental scooter? Rubber-burning fanatics want to know.

If the batteries are worth anything, how long before that entire vending machine is in the back of an old pickup?

Bank ATMs have money inside that worth something, yet most bank ATMs do not end up in the back of old pickups.

We've had as many as three ATMs robbed in one night. Back up a truck with a big winch and jerk the whole thing out of the ground. You can be hooked up and gone in two to three minutes...

LOL, but with the second battery probably going on the passenger seat, there would be no room to pick up chicks!! 555

It is on a pretty busy street and I not sure there is the same crime culture here in Thailand.

Next time I walk by, I will see what type of anti-stealing mechanisms there are.
