In this case, there exist first-principles arguments which would imply support for things such as a cease fire on retaliations, after the massacre by Hamas. Without that cease fire, those same first principles lead to blaming the Jews for the civilian casualties, and round and round we go. Messaging and education will solve nothing, because the conflict doesn't depend on factual disagreements. Only on competing tribes with mutually exclusive ambitions which they each view as righteous and fair. We won't be wringing the first world savior complex out of western civilizaton any time soon, and that complex is what causes the division in the west.

Had the tables been turned, and he was criticizing Trump, or anyone else on the right (If, indeed Trump is on the right, but that's another discussion), the crowd would hav gone nuts - raucus applause and "Whoop! Whoop!"
But they didn't.
