          Customers have to press a button to request staff fetch the products from storage in a dystopian attempt to combat rampant shoplifting

          So now the shoplifters will have the clerk collect their stuff.

            Close them down. Maybe open drive thru only pharmacies.

                      But to the topic, it is quite sad. And people are so clueless that they are only (in the long term) hurting themselves. As@mik says, stores close down, and then people complain about why there are no stores in their area. Don't blame the stores, blame your neighbors.
