Pence out

No surprise here...
Mike Pence announced on Saturday at the Republican Jewish Coalition gathering in Las Vegas that he was suspending his campaign and exiting the race for the GOP nomination.
He received a standing ovation from the influential donors in a room of more than 1000 people on Saturday as he said he had concluded that it “was not his time.”“After much prayer and deliberation I have decided to suspend my campaign for president,” he said. “Let me promise you I will never leave the fight, for conservative values and I will never stop.”
“We always knew this would be an uphill battle, but I have no regrets,” he said. “The only thing that would have been harder than coming up short.”“I urge all my fellow Republicans here give our country a Republican standard-bearer that will, as Lincoln said, appeal to the better angels of our nature, and not only lead us to victory but lead our nation with civility back to the time-honored principles that have always made America strong and prosperous and free.”

Good statement. Sadly he’s the most qualified candidate. He just suffers from an excess of whiteness.
-
Wonder where his supporters will go?
-
Pence's problem is dullness rather than whiteness.
Actually, that's not really fair. It's lack of charisma.
-
I wonder if we'll get any final candidates who aren't really rich people acting like trailer trash.

Somebody forgot to tell Mr. Biden that charisma without whiteness is the way to get elected.

Indeed, @Mik is misguided in thinking that “whiteness” is a liability, completely neglecting that out of 46 US Presidents so far, only 0.5 is “not white.” This statistic clearly shows that “whiteness” is still an overwhelming advantage, not a liability. Pence’s true liability is his association with Trump.

Interesting. So it's your contention that Obama's skin color was an impediment to his political career?

He was clean, so that helped.

Articulate! Don't forget articulate!

I somewhat agree with @Axtremus
VP Pence was too "Trumpy" for those who don't like President Trump, and not "Trumpy" enough for those who do.
He really had no chance from the beginning, even if President Trump had decided not to run for the current election.

If Trump was a jazz musician, Pence would be Lawrence Welk.

Former President Donald Trump complained about "disloyal" people in politics, as he called on his former Vice President Mike Pence to endorse him.
"People are leaving now, and they're all endorsing me. I don't know about Mike Pence. He should endorse me," Trump said at an event in Las Vegas on Saturday, CNN reported.
"Because I had a great, successful presidency, and he was the vice president, he should endorse me. I chose him, made him vice president. But people in politics can be very disloyal. I've never seen anything like it."
Pence was Trump's loyal ally throughout his presidency, but their relationship soured when the vice president refused to help overturn the results of the 2020 election.
During the January 6 attacks on the Capitol, some rioters chanted "hang Mike Pence," and Trump later defended them.
