This particular homeowner likely could see the video you see in the x/tweet; presumably it is his/her home security system that recorded the video.

Based on nothing more than my guess, I think that the owners of the house knew the invaders. Maybe it was a drug deal gone bad or something.

Mostly, (or course but not always), burglars are looking for the easy house to burgle; no one home, no signs of cameras, no dogs, etc.
