So Bannon is blaming everybody for this mess except for the people who actually caused it?

Bannon is talking about the backroom deals being cut to keep Jordan out of the Speaker's Chair.

At its most basic, this is actually a story about the in-fighting during a transition of the GOP. Trump helped change the normal spectrum of the Republican voter. A change that probably started with the Tea Party.

A very small minority of the Republicans in Congress have a disproportionate amount of power, and have wielded it in a very cynical way. What Bannon is trying to do is deflect from this fact. The fact that you don't acknowledge this isn't particularly surprising.

Maybe they should change the rules so that whoever gets the most votes becomes Speaker. It would get rid of this type of idiotic behaviour. Presumably that would require a Constitutional amendment, so it's never going to happen.

As far as back room deals being done are concerned, where's Steve Bannon's pearl necklace? Oh sorry, my mistake, he gave it to Donald Trump. Now try unseeing that particular visual.

        I was only joking

You don't like the way the country is run? Become a citizen and participate in the process.

Both Senate and House have certain rules that reflect an abhorrence of the tyranny of a majority. It does make for messy governance at times.

          But it will work. Eventually.

And it may end up with a speaker that receives a significant number of Democrat votes.

But I agree with @Doctor-Phibes, hiring Rep Jordan as speaker seems to reward the 4-5 reps who did not like Rep. McCarthy over the wishes of the 210+ who did.

Seems like tyranny of the minority.

It's not about this country, it's how politics works in general. But for Steve Bannon to try pin the blame for this situation on RINO's and Democrats is hilarious.

And I'm sure it will work out eventually, but the GOP aren't doing themselves any favours in the eyes of the voters with this shit show.

As long as the checks get there on time, 97% of the public could care less.

It hardly seems worth having elections.

In future they could be replaced by periodic plebiscites with predetermined outcomes on popular issues.

                      Let the AI handle it.

Election results could be known months in advance, making for smooth transitions, no more insurrection.

They are already known months in advance...
