Hay Jolly! Landry?

Edwards did some things I didn't like, but he was mostly a vanishing breed, a Blue Dawg.
Landry is a coonass from St. Martinville. He's worked as a sheriff's deputy, served in the National Guard as an enlisted man, got his bachelor's at ULL and went to Loyola for his JD. He was in Congress long enough to get a cup of coffee, lost his district to Katrina and then lost several political races until being elected AG.
He's pretty conservative. Roman Catholic conservative. Against gender identity issues, anti-abortion, not a big gay rights person even though his brother is gay. Law&Order, pro-death penalty. Filed suit against the Obama Administration over common core.
Big oil and gas guy, but he does have some environmental leanings as to production. I think he will be friendly to small business, from what I hear.
He has some big challenges, but he has an advantage going in. His challenges are making the state more prosperous, particularly the Northern part. He needs to stop the brain drain of young people...We raise them, educate them and they leave for better paying jobs. So a lot if his success will be dependent on good job creation.
He has an advantage or two. The Louisiana Governor is the most powerful in America ( a HPL legacy). He has a Republican Senate and House (about 65%). If he can hit the ground running, he can do effect a lot of change this spring. He also has the line item veto.
I'm optimistic. He got my vote. I hope it was worth it.
