The cattery where Boris was born posted a vid online of the current kittens.

There are so many bad, careless, and dirty breeders out there. This is what a professional cat breeder's place should look like.

How many kittens do you see? I think I see 4 adults.

I have learned a new word.

Speaking of the cattery, the breeder has been absolutely wonderful since we picked Boris up. I message her about every 6-9 months with a comment, question or update as to how Boris is doing.

The price you see for "Dena" is considerably more, considerably, than what we paid for Boris. With Maine Coons getting more and more popular, the price has gotten ridiculous. Especially with COVID, everyone wanted a companion...

She has commented how the price to raise a kitten is really not appreciated:

            • Purchase of stud and mom cats. Breeding rights are EXPENSIVE.
            • Feed
            • General Hygiene of cattery
            • Litter
            • Registration of kitten with breeding organizations
            • Veterinary visits (at least two) with vaccinations, meds, etc.
            • Veterinary assessment of queen to assure she's good to breed.
And the labor to maintain all of that.

She said that those expenses made breeding barely profitable, and if you're any good it IS a full-time job.

But isn't that true of most good domestic pet breeders? I don't think they do it for the money.
