    https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/canada-job-gains-triples-expectations-september-wage-growth-accelerates-2023-10-06/

It looks like the USA' much-better-than-expected September jobs report is not an isolated incident. Our northern neighbor also had a very good month with employment and wage gains.

Do they double count jobs like we do?

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

It’s amazing how The NY Times, CNN, et al are praising the jobs report but the financial guys are all indicating it was disappointing.

          You misspelled "typical."

            Are you sure?

            https://kslnewsradio.com/2047594/new-jobs-report-released-for-september-shows-economic-snapshot/

Robert Spendlove, senior economist at Zions Bank, sees stability in the numbers.

            https://finance.yahoo.com/news/september-jobs-report-shows-us-economy-remains-stronger-than-wall-street-thinks-164133836.html

Wells Fargo senior economist Tim Quinlan wrote [...] "Those forecasts [for a recession] have largely been pared, put-off or canceled altogether. To some extent the rationale for these more sanguine assessments is a recognition of the uncanny staying power of the consumer."

The "disappointments" from the "financial guys" are mostly about worrying that the Feds may have to raise interest rates some more because the jobs report is "too good," not that the jobs report itself is "bad."

I'm sure it's due to the leadership of Mr. Castro...
