Killing the Golden Goose through greed...

Yes, prime video has been making big changes - mostly making the service worse.

They have TV shows with ads, they are pushing subscriptions from other suppliers. You have to watch, or skip through, 'coming attraction' ads before watching a show you want to watch.

      This is bad.

Is this where the airlines got the idea to charge $30 to check your luggage? Or was it the other way around?

Probably the ad deal is because viewership is down. Some of that is because since people are over COVID, they aren't barricaded in their homes, with nothing to do but play with the computer and watch TV.

Among Disney+, Apple TV, YouTube Premium, and Netflix, I find Amazon's programming to be the least interesting. I rarely watch anything on Prime Video. Prime membership for me is all about the "free" shipping. :man-shrugging:

Me too. I watch a few things, but not much anymore. Netflix has gotten a lot less interesting lately too. Maybe because of the writers' strike, I don't know. But they are quite pricey and if it doesn't shape up I'll ax it.

I look at it as lagniappe. A few of the series are pretty decent, such asReacher or Mrs. Maizel. Plus, TNF football and a few sports events. And I can usually wade through the movies and find something. But it's usually not for the latest and greatest.
